Cool Sun Outdoors was formed in 2003 by the proprietor Mike Coulson in the Camberley area of Surrey. It is a family run business that takes pride in allowing customers to enjoy the outdoors.

In 2007 we moved the business into the Marine sector as our family hobbies are boating and the Sea. Mike Coulson (Proprietor), is an RYA qualified Powerboat and First Aid Instructor, teaching RYA Level 1 & 2, Safety Boat and First Aid courses. Mike teaches in the Sandbanks & Poole area's of Dorset, where the family motor cruiser is also kept.

Cool Sun Outdoors have given the customer the balance of quality against price. Keeping the price low, allows more customers to enjoy the water.

Mike first got an interest for boats when he was a Caterpillar diesel mechanic (aged 18 years). He repaired fishing boats on the River Tyne, Police launches, Pilot boats and other craft fitted with Caterpillar diesels.

Mike moved into water skiing when he moved to Essex in 1984 and then Sailing when he met his wife Sarah, enjoying many trips on his father in laws Westerley, where he was introduced to the Dorset Coastline.

In 2007 Mike moved into the RYA Power-boating scheme and became an RYA Powerboat Instructor. He now also teaches RYA first aid. Mike is a professional trainer and enjoys the theory of how adults learn. He holds a City & Guilds teachers certificate and is currently engaged in a Certificate of Education (Cert Ed). He appreciates that teaching people a skill, is only one part of the learning process, how you get your subject across is very important too.
